This position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
Purpose
Assist with research projects in the Matouschek research laboratory using general molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry techniques and maintaining excellent notes.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and performs basic molecular biology experiments (cloning, site directed mutagenesis, etc.) and cell biology experiments (western blots, transfections, cell culture, etc.).
- Designs and performs basic protein biochemistry experiments (protein purification, binding assays, kinetic assays, etc.).
- Assists other lab members or collaborators in procedures, equipment & instruments.
- Performs other experiments as directed. Includes genetic engineering and radioactivity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or other relevant field, or equivalent and some lab experience. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Salary Range
$35,568 + depending on qualifications
