DESCRIPTION
- Term, Non-Continuing Instructional Aide for our Theatre department.
The position supports a theatre instructor who has limited vision and requires assistance during their instructional hours. Hours are Mondays & Wednesdays 9:30AM-2:30PM, 10 hours per week, occasionally more. Assignment is scheduled for mid August through mid December 2024.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a Short-Term Non-Continuing (STNC), temporary, hourly position, 10 hours per week, $19.78 per hour; Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year, up to 180 days.

This position may be eligible for CalPERS Retirement (contingent upon number of hours worked within the fiscal year)
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Provides instructional support to students during class and/or lab time
Notifies students of additional services on campus; such as tutoring and other resources
Assists faculty with material coordination and/or dispersion
May assist with data entry
May assist with set up of classroom materials and exhibits
May assist students with computer usage or software
Other duties as assigned
Program Duties:
Read all printed materials for instructor
Operate audio visual equipment
Maintain attendance tracking
Communicate with students as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
Education:
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required, AA preferred
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Specific curriculum and any equipment or tools, as appropriate to the classroom setting;
Basic teaching and learning principles, study skills, and customer service skills;
Appropriate language skills including usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary;
Basic arithmetic;
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
ABILITY TO:
Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of stakeholders;
Follow verbal and written directions;
Follow through on assigned task;
Conduct self in a professional manner;
Abide by District policies and procedures;
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds;
Walk and/or stand for intermittent periods;
Develop and maintain constructive relationship with students of diverse learning needs;
Maintain accurate records;
Help students identify problems and recommend solutions

SELECTION PROCEDURE
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (Prior to beginning employment)
In accordance with Federal Law all employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States;
Must be fingerprinted through DOJ and FBI and have background clearance; and Must take a TB test (once hired and every four years thereafter).
