Our Main Operating Rooms boasts of 15 OR suites that care for level one trauma patients and provides care for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatrics with a variety of procedures being performed.
Services offered include but are not limited to:
general cases, GYN, laparoscopic cases, ENT, plastics, podiatry, urology, robotics, cardiac/vascular, endovascular, neuro/spine, and orthopedics.
You will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team and demonstrate investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization.

Nonprofit Banner Thunderbird Medical Center opened its doors in 1983 and has been growing ever since to meet the health care needs of the communities it serves in northwest metropolitan Phoenix.

The tertiary care hospital provides everything from routine to advanced, specialized care to both adult and pediatric patients. Specialized services include cardiology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, neurosurgery, robotic surgery, stroke care and a women and infants services program. Additionally, in partnership with top-ranked MD Anderson Cancer Center, Banner Thunderbird also offers state-of-the-art cancer care.Banner Thunderbird is certified as a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center and features a 35-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit that cares for babies of high-risk pregnancies and those born prematurely.
Banner Thunderbird is also home to the only pediatric intensive care unit for seriously ill or injured children in the area.
This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Participants in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.The Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the physician with advanced tasks during surgical procedures which include cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machine use, cardiac assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions.
Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and makes minor adjustments or calls biomedical equipment staff. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms.Participates in or leads the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.
May provide business support to the department including administrative tasks.
Participates in emergency call rotation. Internal customers are patients, surgeons, and nursing staff. High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
Must stay abreast of new developments in the field.
