    About the job

    Axiom Design Build's project Designer is responsible for developing design sets including as-builts, floor plans, elevations, permit sets and renderings at all phases of the design process. Designers collaborate with Design and Creative Directors, Architects and Owners, to achieve the level of function, style, and design expectations of the company and the client.

    Axiom Design Build is a Seattle-based residential design and construction firm located in Ballard. We are a team of architects, designers, builders and craftspeople who share a commitment to quality throughout the Pacific Northwest.

    Reports to: Creative Director, Owners

    JOB EXPECTATIONS and DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED

    • 2 years minimum in an architectural office (design experience)
    • Bachelor's degree in architecture preferred.
    • Develop design documents, permit sets and design presentations.
    • Knowledgeable with local building codes
    • Proficient in ArchiCad (or similar AutoCAD) software.
    • Collaborative with Creative/Design Directors and Architects to ensure design intent and presentation quality are fulfilled.
    • Manages project specifications and project details.
    • Visits project sites during construction phase to ensure Quality Control
    • Orders and procures certain specified materials for projects based on needs of Project Manager
    • Prepares professionally presented drawings prior to client meetings.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Stays up to date on current materials, vendors, and design innovations.
    • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set deadlines.
    • Identifies needs of the department and company.
    • Willing to pick-up duties based on workload and needs of a small business.
    • Must be able to take creative direction and critique.

    This position starts out as Part time (hourly wage) for training purposes, with the potential to grow into fulltime (salary with benefits) within 6-8 weeks
