    Cresset is seeking an individual to support the Tax and Financial Planning functions of the Organization. The Tax Analyst will have a hands-on, meaningful role in sophisticated tax planning, compliance, and research services to ultra-high net worth clients, and collaborate with family office peers to offer integrated wealth planning. This position will report to Managing Director of Tax but will also support the financial planning practice. Compensation is commensurate with education and relevant work experience.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Grow into a reliable team player providing tax compliance and planning services to the firm's family office clients
    • Utilize and help implement technology to automate, scale, and elevate the tax practice
    • Responsible for digesting large amount of financial planning data to convert it into timely and reliable tax and financial projections
    • Assist Tax Directors in various locations with quarterly compliance, data input/processing, coordination of tax filing workflow
    • Liaise between the financial planning and tax planning practices of the organization to deliver seamlessly integrated wealth management services
    • Create/enhance automation processes to reduce the need for data entry and mitigate human errors
    • Take interest and learn about trends, legislative developments, and tax authority decisions affecting Cresset's family office clients
    • Maintain a personal commitment to continuing education for professional development and growth
    • Aspire to become a professional in the field of high-net-worth financial or tax planning

    Qualifications & Characteristics

    • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation or Finance
    • CPA/CFP aspirations a plus
    • Desire to learn about personal and trust income tax issues surrounding high net worth individuals, closely held businesses, estates, trusts, and private foundations
    • A blend of financial, mathematical and analytical skills; understanding of advanced fiscal concepts, high financial literacy
    • Must be interested in integrated family wealth planning, including estate and financial planning
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, their trusted advisors, and peers
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Candidate should be confident and assertive, and able to garner the respect of others
    • The ability to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is essential
    • Familiarity with tax or financial planning software products a plus, but not a must
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of client service, ethics, and integrity
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and other office software and technology
