Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Obstetrics, your primary role will be to provide care and support to pregnant women before, during, and after childbirth.

You will work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of both the mother and baby.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor the progress of labor and assist with delivery
Provide nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns
Educate patients on prenatal and postnatal care
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Provide emotional support to patients and their families
Assist with breastfeeding and newborn care education
Respond to emergencies and provide CPR if necessary
Stay updated on latest advancements in obstetric nursing

Qualifications and Skills:

Current RN license in the state of practice
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Certification in Obstetrics Nursing (RNC-OB) strongly desired
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in obstetric nursing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
CPR certification
