Accurately procuring materials based on demand plan to support current and new opportunities.
Becoming well-versed in the ordering system to ensure we never run out of stock, quickly replace stock, and/or effectively communicate with all affected teams on inventory status.
Working with suppliers to negotiate best pricing for quality material.
Performing new product research and sourcing.
Evaluating commodity pricing and exchange rates to compare with current purchase pricing.
Understanding items being purchased and the quality expected for each category.
Responsible for managing vendor relationships alongside the items we currently buy from that vendor
Identifying new vendor opportunities and measuring the success of existing vendors
Price negotiation and cost savings opportunities with existing vendors
What do we value in this role?
Degree in related field or comparable experience
3-4 years of experience in a procurement role with a heavy emphasis on sourcing or as a mid-level buyer
Preference for individuals with fasteners, rigging, and/or cargo shipping supply chain experience
Adaptable to our ERP system.
Strong negotiating skills, as well as vendor relationship management.
Proven ability to influence others and inform decisions through use of data and monitoring of market trends.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including generating reports with PivotTables, building formulas and utilizing functions, formatting cells, conducting data validation and simulation.
Strategic:
Understands the global supply chain and ripple effect this position has on the company. Import experience preferred.
Growth-oriented: Highly motivated to seek continuous growth for yourself, the team, and the company.

Comfortable in difficult conversations and holding others accountable. Experience in cross-functional team collaboration and S&OP process.
