Description

Houston Fasteners a division of MW Components is looking for a Machine Operator - day shift. The Machine Operator sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area
Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements
Meet quality and schedule requirements as assigned
Monitor tool life and replace cutting tools as needed
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Strong computer skills (MS Office) with experience in ERP systems preferred
Working knowledge of manufacturing principals
Mechanically inclined
Knowledge of hand tools
Basic shop math

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred
Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job
Experience in manufacturing preferred but not limited

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds
