About the Department:
The University Advancement division is a comprehensive development and alumni relations enterprise with a staff complement of approximately 135 full-time employees.
Functional units within Advancement include development/fundraising, alumni relations, stewardship and donor relations, advancement communications, special events, gift processing, research, prospect management, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, information systems and management, and infrastructure services.
Advancement's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with George Mason University's alumni and constituents, while matching their philanthropic interests with the university's aspirations and priorities.

The Talent Acquisition Assistant is responsible for supporting the recruitment and onboarding efforts for the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations.

Responsibilities:
Assist with Talent Acquisition:
Assist team with compiling interview feedback, interview notes, and position closing documents;
Assist with full-time talent pool management;
Maintain search committee training tracker in project management system;
Prepare full-time recruitment packets;
Talent Acquisition Research and Reporting:
Research recruitment best practices in higher education advancement;
Perform periodic research on recruitment efforts of direct competitors; and
Assist recruitment coordinator with monthly reporting.
Assist with New Employee Onboarding:
Maintain an up-to-date onboarding presentation;
Assist in preparing new hire packets, as needed;
Prepares LinkedIn posts for new hires, and posts on LinkedIn as needed;
Monitors and tracks completion of required onboarding, as directed;
As needed, assist new hires on their first day including but not limited to: providing new hires with a presentation of the department, assisting with obtaining ID card, assist with parking as necessary;
Provides input as necessary to improve onboarding processes; and
Supports recruitment coordinator and HR assistant in submitting personnel transactions.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated communication skills (both oral and written);
High attention to detail;
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality;
Skills to provide all aspects of executive-level administrative support, especially communication with and generation of external correspondence;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
Ability to complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines while staying organized;
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive);
Skills in calendar management and scheduling; and
Some experience working in a customer service capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of HR principles specific to talent acquisition;
Some experience working in talent acquisition; and
Experience working with PageUp, or similar ATS.
