Summary:
The proficient Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and advanced care, focusing on long-term goals or plans. Continues to enhance the ability to handle and manage clinical nursing challenges effectively. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers to assist in managing the clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Provides nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their practice level.
- Administers medications and treatments using the correct protocol; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Records patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.

- Utilizes the Nursing Process effectively by using critical thinking skills to assess the needs of patients and families.
- Communicates findings to the healthcare team.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans based on evidence-based practice.

- Evaluates the care and treatment provided, as well as the patient's response.
- Conducts timely reassessments and documentation.
