    Description
    Our Texas based engineering firm has openings for Civil EIT for traffic engineering in the San Antoni area.


    Traffic engineering tasks include signal design and operations, signal timing and modeling (SYNCHRO & VISSIM), illumination design, signing, pavement markings, traffic control, traffic forecasting/projections, Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), minor roadway design, preparing technical reports, and developing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).


    Responsibilities:
    Basic understanding of and ability to build analytical and design skills

    Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer

    Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer

    Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer

    Knowledge of basic computer software used for engineering

    Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule

    Oversee CADD Technicians

    Prepare plan drawings for sealing by Professional Engineer

    Review third party reports and drawings

    Coordinate and market with external consulting engineers and clients

    The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and collaborate well with others.

    This individual must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines with limited direction.

    DEC is seeking a professional who can maintain high performance under pressure and understands the processes needed to ensure quick and timely execution of projects.


    Requirements:
    BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school

    Member/associate of a professional organization preferred but not required (e.g., ITE, ASCE, etc.)

    Ability to work on projects of varying complexities and deadlines

    Solid and up-to-date understanding of engineering principles

    Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Must possess professional maturity and reliability and have good verbal and written communication skills
