    Description
    Staff Engineer - Geotechnical

    PSI, an Intertek company, is looking for a skilled Staff Engineer - Geotechnical to join our Building & Construction team in our San Antonio, Texas office. This is a great opportunity to advance your career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

    How you will contribute at Intertek:
    • Completing various assignments involving independent evaluations using standard techniques and criteria, making necessary adjustments to these standards
    • Reviewing and preparing engineering reports, project plans, and specifications
    • Assigning tasks to staff members
    • Developing scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects
    • Creating proposals for professional services
    • Collaborating with the Principal Consultant on recommendations
    • Cultivating client relationships and identifying new project opportunities
    • Participating in client site meetings
    • Effectively communicating with clients and project teams
    • Training Technicians and other Technical staff
    • Conducting on-site observations, sample collection, and tests when necessary
    • Operating both in the field and laboratory periodically
    • Maintaining awareness of and adherence to safety practices and policies
    Qualifications for success in this role:
    • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited/ABET school
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
    • Experience in a related field is preferred
    • Preferred: EIT certification
    • Plus: PE certification
    • Essential: Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to interpret and comprehend work plans
    • Willingness to work off shift and overtime as needed
    • Potential travel up to 15% of the time
    • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record
