Job Summary:


A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) library media specialist facilitates library media or instructional technology programs as aligned to school and district priorities.

They promote the use of multiple forms of media to support literacy development and lead students to become effective users of information and technology skills & tools necessary for college and career readiness.

A library media specialist oversees the School Library Media Program in accordance with the MPS Information and Technology Strategic Plan.

Their work offers an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively.

Qualifications:


To be considered, applicants must hold a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Library Media Specialist license, be actively enrolled in a library media specialist certification program, or have the ability to obtain this license by the start of the school year.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule:


The Library Media Specialist salary range starts at $53,128.00 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching or library media specialist experience.
