Job Summary:

Plan and manage the day-to-day transportation operations for our San Diego Facility. Includes scheduling and management of all customer deliveries and related administration.


Responsibilities:


  • Day to day management of delivery resources including driver shift start times and truck availability; To be completed in coordination with General Manager Operations Manager and facility mechanics
  • Plan delivery routes based on open orders for the following day utilizing the Ortec software tool; Adjust routing throughout the day as new orders are received and/or available delivery resources change
  • Actively manage delivery routes while in progress utilizing the Ortec software tool, making adjustments based on factors such as traffic, delays at customers, delivered volumes and truck issues so that customer service requirements can still be met
  • Support drivers throughout the day with advice and problem solving to assist them in completing their routes in a timely manner; Escalate issues to Operations Manager or sales team members as needed for support.
  • Communicate with customers and sales team members as needed to provide delivery status, address questions or to assist in resolving delivery issues
  • Review daily route completion performance [KPIs] and provide coaching and feedback to drivers on delivery activities; May coordinate with General Manager if accountability or discipline discussions are required.
  • Review all driver paperwork for completeness and correctness including date of delivery, product, and quantity delivered via Ortec and Bizspeed.
  • Manage Ortec/Bizspeed equipment including assignment of equipment to drivers and maintenance of equipment inventory; Escalate equipment issues to OT Support.
  • Consult with Operations Manager & General Manager on driver staffing levels; Participate in driver hiring and coordinate driver training with certified driver trainers on staff.

From $31.00 per hour

  • Dispatching: 1 year (required)
Microsoft Office: 1 year (required)

  • Fuel & Oil: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (required)

Ability to Relocate:
