Geneva College invites applications for an immediate opening for a tenure-track appointment as a faculty member in the Master of Arts in Counseling program.
Candidates that have an interest in and are capable of assuming responsibilities as Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program Coordinator are encouraged to apply.
This position is designed as a 9-month position and will begin August 2024. Minority and female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. The College will consider candidates that possess a doctorate degree in counselor education and supervision from a CACREP-approved program.Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure as a professional counselor (LPC), as well as experience in the mental health field, are required.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The candidate will teach courses in the Master of Arts in Counseling Program; possess a record of successful leadership, and teaching; demonstrate an understanding of the integration of faith and learning; serve as a clinical mental health counseling program coordinator and be committed to function as an integrated team member and leader of the department.
Placing a high value on student-faculty interaction, the Counseling program expects the selected candidate to be engaged beyond the classroom.
Essential Responsibilities:
(These essential responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.)
For a 9-month position, teach 18 contact hours per year (typically 3 fall, and 3 spring) with a combination of on ground and online course assignments.
Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons (Note: preparation time will vary based on instructor experience in teaching that course).
Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved syllabus per faculty established guidelines.
Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting.Suitably challenge, engage, support, and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect.
Support the department by providing leadership for activities that promote student engagement and academic excellence.Provide timely grades to students through college software and upload mid-term and final grades by college deadlines.
Respond to student questions on a timely basis.
Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee the specialty curriculum involving the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in accordance with most recent Council for the Accreditation of Counseling Related Programs (CACREP).
Advise students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
Develop and maintain field placement sites for practicum and internships for Clinical Mental Health Counseling track students.
