ABOUT THE ROLE

The Development Manager plays a vital role in achieving the company's new store development objectives. This position acts as the Project Manager, overseeing the construction of multiple new stores from inception to completion. Responsibilities include managing design professionals, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects meet honeygrow's standards within budget and schedule. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is crucial to our expansion.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-Construction:
    • Oversee design consultants to develop feasibility, permitting, and construction plans.
    • li>Provide cost estimates for new locations and manage the construction bidding process.
    • Handle all RFPs, bid analysis, and vendor selection for owner-supplied items.
    • Manage government and landlord approvals.
  • Construction:
    • Ensure construction meets honeygrow's quality standards, on time and within budget.
    • Implement change management procedures and oversee project safety compliance.
    • Coordinate inspections and project turnover to the NRO team.
  • Post-Construction:
    • Collaborate with support teams for feedback and maintenance of existing locations.
    • Manage capital projects for existing stores.
  • General:
    • Develop and maintain design prototypes.
    • Implement communication plans and cost-saving strategies.
    • Ensure project documentation accuracy and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of construction project management experience.
  • Proven ability to reduce costs and project turnaround time.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Deadline-oriented and efficient.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
