    Job Summary:
    Provides Laboratory services to meet the needs of patients, performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
    Directly supervises personnel and testing/reporting of Laboratory procedures.
    Assures compliance with applicable regulations regarding laboratory operations.
    Responsible for the accuracy of patient results and the efficient operation, staffing and budget of section assigned.

    Works to establish standardized best practices for laboratory processes via assigned sections or laboratory; oversees implementation across the health organization.

    Supports Medical Director of laboratory.

    Duties:
    Supervises work flow and staff; educates and trains employees; encourages development of staff's skills.
    Evaluates reagents, equipment and new testing methods.
    Effectively communicates and resolves concerns across multidisciplinary departments.
    Plans, organizes and directs the activities of other individuals.
    Maintains and reviews all laboratory records, reports, statistical logs and files to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies.
    Maintains compliance with regulatory standards (TJC, CAP, CLIA 88 etc.).
    Ensures Laboratory staff compliance role in regard to the above regulations.
    Provides progressive leadership and management to staff through example and skill.
    Manages events and potential laboratory service interruptions; escalates any such events to the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services as needed,
    Updates executive on laboratory operations
    Maintains daily payroll and H.R. records

    Qualifications:
    ASCP - preferred
    2-4 years of experience working in Microbiology Laboratory required
    2-3 years of Laboratory management experience preferred
    4 years/Bachelors' Degree required
