- Utilise your specialist subject matter expertise in biological science, environmental conservation, environment protection, threatened species, climate change, public land management, first peoples, waste management or the circular economy.

- lead consultation across government and relevant stakeholders to inform expert, authoritative and timely policy advice to the Minister and the Department's executive;
- support timely government decision-making using your sound understanding of Victorian Government processes and systems; and
- manage the work program and deliverables of complex policy projects within tight timelines.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects and policy advice.
- Demonstrated experience in public sector administration, management, and processes at a senior level, including provision of strategic advice to government and supporting timely government decision making.
- Knowledge, skills and experience with policy development and analysis in one or more of the following areas is required: climate change; environment protection; biological science; environmental conservation; threatened species; first peoples; public land management; regulation; waste management and/or the circular economy.
- Experience undertaking engagement with stakeholders across government, industry and the community on complex policy issues.
- A well-developed understanding of Victorian Government policy processes is desirable.
- Tertiary qualification(s) including post-graduate qualification(s) in social sciences, public policy, natural resources and environmental management, law or similar is desirable.

Description
The Environment, Climate Action and First Peoples Group in the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is seeking Expressions of Interest from talented and driven individuals with strong skills and experience in environmentally focused policy analysis, policy development and policy advice.

As a Policy Manager you will:
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
The duration of the position will depend on the role/roles available at the time. These may be fixed-term, or ongoing. The work location is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available. Expressions of interest will close on 30 September 2023.
