    What we're looking for

    Toyota's Financial Reporting Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Senior Technical Accounting Analyst.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to review and analyze complex non-routine contracts / transactions for proper accounting treatment.

    Reporting to the Technical Accounting Manager, the person in this role will support the Financial Reporting department's objective to accurately and timely reflect complex non-routine transactions for purposes of its reporting to TMC as well as its year-end financial statements.

    What you'll be doing

    • Review and analyze complex contracts for accounting treatment under US GAAP and IFRS; for certain complex non-routine transactions, research and prepare technical accounting position papers
    • Effectively communicate accounting implications of complex contracts to internal stakeholders at all levels and backgrounds, including senior management
    • Provide assistance with the year-end audit including the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures
    • Monitor and update accounting policies to ensure established processes and procedures are aligned with current accounting requirements
    • Provide assistance in quarterly reporting submissions to TMC

    Qualifications/ What you bring

    • CPA with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 5+ years of progressive experience, including prior Big 4 public accounting / audit experience
    • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP coupled with accounting research and writing skills
    • Experience reviewing complex contracts and ability to apply proper accounting guidance and business judgment in arriving at a conclusion
    • Enthusiastic self-starter with ability to tackle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple working groups, including senior management
    • Leadership skills in leading kaizen (continuous improvement) efforts or project management

    Added bonus if you have

    • Advanced degree:MS in Accounting or MBA
    • Prior private industry accounting experience serving in a technical accounting or financial reporting role
    • Familiarity with Toyota business operations and accounting issues
    • Experience with SAP
    • SOX compliance experience
