Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify accuracy of medical documentation and patient information
• Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD9, ICD10, DRG) to procedures and diagnoses
• Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Resolve billing discrepancies and answer patient inquiries regarding billing issues
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
• Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and complete billing processes

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems and terminology
• Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Knowledge of medical collections processes is a plus
