Job Description
Job DescriptionGENERAL DUTIES: The Maintenance Position supports the efforts of Asset Management Department in the maintenance and repair of property managed by SAAHC in an efficient and economical manner. The position is under the direct supervision and direction of the Property Manager however, scheduling of work may be directed by the Asset Management Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Complete work order and associated documentation in an efficient and economical manner
Self-starter
Everyday driving in company van to various scattered site single family and multi-family units
Daily deadlines of work orders
Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
Complete mechanical and plumbing repairs
Purchase materials for maintenance and repairs with manager approved purchase orders
Ensure that repair work meets building code requirements as well as housing quality standards
Ensure that preventive maintenance plans are timely completed
Conduct property inspection for new lease (move in's) and renewal property conditions.
Complete work to meet Property Managers move in schedule for resident occupancy
Obtain bids for maintenance work not done with SAAHC staff
On-site supervisor of temporary employees and or volunteers
Safe operation and maintenance of personal tools and company owned vehicle, tools and equipment.
Maintaining warehouse storage in an organized, efficient and accountable manner
Delivery and retrieval or archived files
Annual Fair Housing Training Certification
The completion of other tasks and duties as approved or assigned by the Asset Management Director or Executive Director
JOB REQUIREMENT: The following are the minimum requirements for this position:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED
3 years single or multifamily real estate property maintenance knowledge and experience including make ready materials and methods, repair and maintenance of plumbing, electrical, A/C certification or experience and mechanical systems (Certified Apartment Technician Designation CAMT preferred)
Familiarity with Section 8 housing rental program minimum rental unit standards
Ability to be bonded, to pass a physical exam and drug test
Valid Texas driver operator license and good driving record
Job will involve working indoor and outdoor in a wide range of temperatures, and involve standing, bending climbing, and lifting weights up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.)
