- Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices and receipts for multiple divisions.
- Researches and processes customer claims of invoice payment, charge backs, returns, etc.
- Prepares daily cash deposits and fills out cash control sheet.
- Reports sales and use tax to State of Vermont and record keeping.
- Maintains general ledger by entering payables and receivables into accounting software.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Other duties as required.
- Maintains positive internal relationships with all departments.
- Maintains exceptional customer service.
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to read and interpret common financial reports and documents.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (including Outlook, Excel and Word with significant experience in creating and utilizing Excel spreadsheets).
- Knowledge of regulatory accounting requirements.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
