Summary:


Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.

Responsible for the technical aspects of scheduling materials, manpower and machines for a production operation.

Duties include preparation of daily and weekly schedules for assigned product lines or departments and for coordination with overall master schedule.

Communicate regularly with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules to accommodate changes in machine and material availability. Works directly with the machine shop foreman and machine shop manager to achieve positive results on the shop floor.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Promote safety awareness and comply with all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety standards.
  • Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, part quality or the effectiveness of the Quality Management System
  • Utilize ERP system to auto‐generate manufacturing work orders.
  • Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved.
  • Complete status reports, such as production progress, customer information and materials inventory.
  • Assist with finished goods inventory management.
  • Notify customers of any schedule impacts to orders on a weekly basis.
  • Support purchasing to expedite suppliers purchase orders, if required.
  • Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
  • Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Creates job routers.
  • Conduct random audits of our manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with our Quality Management System.
  • Maintain calibration records for shop measurement equipment.
  • Issue purchase orders to all machine shop vendors or as directed by management.
  • Close out job routers, sort documentation and deliver to correct departments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Be familiar with Company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Share knowledge & best practice across the company.
  • Forklift training and certification of new hires for the machine shop.
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:


  • At least 35 years of years of experience with machine shop floor operations, machine shop office administration.
  • Advanced Computer Skills (Microsoft)
  • In‐depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software

  • Documentation Skills
  • Production and Processing-Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Interact appropriately with customers, vendors and coworkers.
  • Understand our material specifications and be able to review and approve vendor provided MTR's.
  • Retain composure in stressful situations.
  • Make decisions affecting due dates, quality and cost.
  • Must be able to train others.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Work with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and change work schedules on short notice.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong decisionmaking skills, initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan. Work with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to operate jib cranes safely
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Selfmotivated and able to work well with others.

Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour
