- Prepare and process weekly payrolls while maintaining detailed payroll and timekeeping records (absences, bonus, leaves, etc.).
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, interviewing, performing reference checks and issuing offer letters.
- Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees and oversee their onboarding process within HRIS.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.).
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain HRIS system and compile internal management reports as needed.
- Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Oversee Employee Uniform Program
- Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
- Assist with performance management procedures.
- Help Coordinate the wellness program.
- Coordinate HR projects (Wellness, meetings, training, surveys etc.) with rest of team.
- Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and build morale and retention.
- Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practice.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned by management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
- Strong HRIS and payroll system experience especially with the Paylocity payroll system.
- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in conflict management and understanding of employee relationship.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Associates degree in Human Resources (or related field) or experience in lieu of education.
- 4+ years of experience Payroll experience (Paylocity system a plus)
- At least 1 year experience as an HR Assistant (essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Ability to work collectively with others within the organization.
