Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team and be a strong independent contributor to accounting operations.

This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and monthly closing processes.


Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant is an experienced individual who is a self-starter and can handle a heavy workload from the Controller and club operations with mínimal supervision.

They should possess reasonable knowledge of how accounting systems and processes work and be an active problem solver looking for ways to improve the accounting functionality and streamlining processes.

They must possess and project a positive attitude, a willingness to work well with others, and be a supporter of our members and guests.

In addition, they need to be adaptable, organized, and able to handle multiple requests at once.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process monthly member and nonmember statements on the fifth of each month.
  • Process member and nonmember payments.
  • Process monthly ACH payment for members on the fifteenth of each month.
  • Process billing adjustments in a timely manner.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information in a timely manner.
  • Review accounts receivable aging report for delinquent accounts. Send letters based on criteria in delinquent collection policy.
  • Distribute invoices to managers for approval.
  • Review invoices to verify proper approval, general ledger coding and enter them into the accounts payable system in a timely manner and in the correct period.
  • Setup vendors in the accounts payable system and request W9's as needed.
  • Prepare check runs in a timely manner so invoices are not paid late and discounts are taken.
  • Review all checks prior to mailing to ensure they have the proper signatures.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Review vendor statements and research discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure they are secure.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Process 1099's at yearend.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Administer and maintain petty cash fund in accordance with club policy.
  • Assist with monthend closing process by reconciling GL accounts and recording journal entries.
  • Assist Controller with annual financial statement audit.
  • Participate in various accounting projects, analyses, and research assignments.
  • Assist Controller with streamlining processes and implementing new systems.
  • Answer phones on a backup basis.

Additional Responsibilities
May be given additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Controller, General Manager or Board of Directors


Qualification and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Club members, regulatory agencies, vendors and members of the business community.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience and knowledge in U.S. GAAP
  • Strong Excel and Word Skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop ad hoc financial models to assess Operations or assist the Board in strategic longterm planning.
  • Prior private club (or similar) experience a plus but not required.

Pay:
$80, $100,000.00 per year
