REPORTS TO:
Director Food Services

DESCRIPTION (DEFINITION & DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS): Prepare and serve food in schools and assist in cafeteria cleanup.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (EXAMPLE OF DUTIES):

Serve food to students.
Assist with final preparation of food items.
Assist in cleanup of cafeteria and utensils after meals.
Monitor inventory of supplies.
Responsible for cashier, deposits, daily cafeteria reports.
Responsible for free and reduced meal program at school site.
Providing liaison between school and central kitchen.
Responsible for main dish and hot vegetable.
Responsible for loading hot carts for all elementary and contract schools. Responsible for opening and closing central kitchen.
Produce breakfast and lunch production and transportation worksheets.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

Knowledge of:

Precautions for sanitation and safety around food items and kitchen utensils and equipment.
Food buying guide for school nutrition program.

Ability to:

Incorporated within one or more of the previously mentioned performance responsibilities, which are essential functions of this job description, are the following essential physical requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Shoulder, arm, wrist, and finger dexterity sufficient for distribution of food items.
Ability to see for the purposes of reading recipes, and food item reports.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and do repetitive lifting of 25 pounds.
Ability to push a food cart with pounds.

Training and Experience:

Follow written and oral directions.
