Fraud Risk Team helps enable profitable business growth by reducing the risk of fraud and maintaining our customer's confidence in the security of our products.

Modernizing the authorizations platform is a key strategic imperative across organization to provide new capabilities to enable rapid innovation and growth.

The Fraud Risk Team is a major stakeholder in the modernization initiative and will drive business requirements for the new platform, encompassing current functionality and envisioning and planning for future business needs, form factors and payment mechanisms.


We are looking for an Analyst to join Fraud Risk Team who will spearhead fraud requirement gathering and implementation across the platform modernization effort.

The role will involve working with key stakeholders across the fraud risk organization, as well as product owners and tech resources to help gather, articulate, prioritize and optimize requirements into a comprehensive roadmap and migration plan.


This is an exciting and critical role that will help drive the modernization roadmap of one of American Express's most important platforms.

To succeed in this role, you would need to have a very good blend of technical skills, innovative thinking and relationship building skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Use data driven mindset to understand fraud risk processes and data capabilities.
  • Gather, synthesize, and articulate fraud requirements. Ensure current needs for Authorizations are being met while future needs are being defined.
  • Help identify the tradeoffs between supporting current needs vs future functionality.
  • Partner with fraud and capabilities teams to translate roadmap into welldefined requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct validation of migrated capabilities and processes by crunching massive transaction data.
  • Closely collaborate with tech and product partners to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Help the tech and product partners envision and understand the need for specific components and data integrations.
  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or master's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with data processing tools such as SQL, Hive, Yellow Brick, or Python is required.
  • Working knowledge of fraud landscape and emerging fraud trends in the card space is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms is a plus
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to drive results and implement strategies. High energy, intellectually curious and infectiously positive
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment
  • Proven track record of resultorientation
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguous problems
  • Ability to solve complex problems and a highly analytical approach
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative and personal accountability

Salary Range:
$55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
