Description
Performs Computerized tomography scans and Radiographic procedures using imaging modalities and assuring the proper implementation of these procedures.

Delivers special care to properly assess that each procedure is conducted in an efficient and safe manner following JMH's Policies and Procedure, Values and Mission Statement.

Provides appropriate care and skills according to age specific competency. Responsible for all radiographic equipment and supplies utilized in the imaging modality.

  • Maintains appropriate patient and departmental records
  • Maintains an open communication with members of the medical staff, administration and ancillary personnel/other departments
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow standard and prescribed safety regulations
  • Respond to all facility emergency codes
  • Attend facilitysponsored training in Blood Borne pathogens, Fire Safety, Right to Know and Chemical Hygiene.
  • Participates in inservice training/educational programs
  • Maintains professional certifications as necessary for job
  • Pursues continuing education in professional practice and management skills
  • Maintains a professional appearance and behavior at all times
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all date and information relating to the facility, medical staff and patients.
  • Maintain patient safety and patient care as a top priority
  • Abide by all relevant facility policies and procedures
  • Report any violation of OSHA Regulations to supervisor
  • Report any quality improvement patients safety issues to the appropriate committee
  • Report defective materials, faulty operations of equipment and unusual matters to supervisor and other appropriate personnel.
  • Notify ordering Physicians of any problem or delays in procedure or performance of equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Competency in professional practice and management skills as appropriate

Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Accredited Radiographic Program or equivalent or BMO course.


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent

Valid state credential, if applicable.


INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Relates cooperatively and constructively with all patients, guests, families, physicians, peers and all health care members as well as anyone the employee comes in contact with during the course of daily activities


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sufficient mobility and strength to ambulate, position, transfer patients. Marked amount of walking, standing, reaching, pulling, pushing, stooping and kneeling. Minimal lifting requirements of 40 to 50 pounds.


VERBAL AND/OR COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.


ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL/MOTOR SKILLS:

Precise hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity.


ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES:

Knowledgeable and competent to perform essential functions.


ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions.


EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS:

Exposure to infectious diseases, bloods and body fluids, and chemical products.


OTHER
Assume the responsibility for professional growth and continuing education. Able to work independently.

Call-Weeknights 6pm-6am

Call-Occasional Weekend Days and Weekend Nights
