Cabling Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW
Configures, installs, dismantles, and reconstructs systems as required by customer and directed by manager.

Typical projects include running cable (CAT 5, CAT5e, CAT 6 Ethernet cable), connecting wiring to jacks, hooks, servers, and interfacing with other technologies in security, IT and Audio/Video.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install systems to meet applicable standards and codes.

Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by customer and/or contract.
Work safely and responsibility to avoid injuries, damage to property, and loss of material.
Complete documentation of installation as needed.
Test operation of equipment to signal receiving center to properly establish service.
Read building, electrical, and data blueprints as required.
Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook up procedures.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor s direction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years industry experience with low voltage/data communications.
OSHA 30
BICSI certification a plus
Electronic and mechanical knowledge
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Excellent attitude toward leadership.
