Job Description

A Retail Store Manager, also known as a Shop Manager, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store to ensure smooth collaboration among employees, drive sales, and uphold store maintenance. The role involves tasks like communicating with suppliers for inventory, scheduling shifts, and training new team members.

Retail Store Manager duties and responsibilities:

Supervising, training, and supporting employees such as Sales Representatives and Retail Store Clerks in customer assistance, store upkeep, and product promotion.
Creating and managing employee schedules and promotional activities tailored around seasonal sales and special events.
Exploring strategies to enhance store visibility, product line promotion, and overall service quality.
Monitoring inventory levels, organizing restocking, executing purchasing strategies, and maintaining supplier relationships to maximize sales efficiency.
Implementing cross-training initiatives for staff and Assistant Managers to sustain operational productivity.
Oversighting all manageable expenses to uphold profitability standards.
Ensuring the store's cleanliness and appealing presentation consistently.
Recruiting and training as required to maintain a capable workforce delivering exceptional customer support.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of proven and constant experience in retail sales/customer service (preferably in fashion/apparel retail)
Prior experience as a Store Manager or Team Supervisor
Strong leadership qualities and teamwork abilities
Flexibility in working hours (including opening/closing shifts, weekends, and peak seasons)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with customers, colleagues, upper management, and HR personnel
Exceptional problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure scenarios
Access to reliable transportation from the start of employment for bank errands
Keen eye for detail in creating appealing marketing setups, organizing merchandise, and maintaining store aesthetics
Capability to handle heavy items, as well as prolonged standing and walking periods
