Critical to the implementation of iStream Superlight are integral modules and systems engineered to deliver a range of electrical functionalities – these technologies also being scaleable to serve the delivery demands of any specific platform configuration.
With multiple sites in Shalford and Warwick, Gordon Murray Technologies continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development.
As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for aSenior CAD Engineer - Suspension (Front Axle) to join our Chassis Team in one of our Midland based locations.
Responsibilities:
Front Axle Suspension Design:
Lead and contribute to the design of the front axle suspension system, ensuring optimal performance, durability, and integration with the overall vehicle architecture.
CAD Modeling:
Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA and 3DX) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of suspension components, considering both functionality and manufacturability.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including vehicle dynamics, chassis systems, and aerodynamics, to ensure seamless integration of the front axle suspension with other vehicle systems.
Innovation:
Drive innovation in suspension design by staying abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and materials, and integrating them into the development process.
Prototyping and Testing Support:
Collaborate with the testing and prototyping teams to validate and optimize the front axle suspension design through physical testing and simulation.
Documentation:
Create comprehensive design documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and design validation reports.
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a CAD Engineer with a focus on suspension systems, particularly front axles.
Proficiency in CATIA and 3DX CAD software.
Strong understanding of automotive engineering principles and suspension dynamics.
Experience in prototyping and testing of suspension components.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
