The Accounting Operations section is recruiting for a motivated self-starter seeking a challenging, exciting and friendly working environment with a variety of work assignments at the Accountant Trainee level within the Accounts Payable unit.

The Accountant Trainee is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and processing invoice payments for purchases made by the Lottery. Preparing and assembling Office Revolving Fund claim schedules. Preparing, processing, and posting monthly, quarterly, and year-end accruals and reconciliations for inclusion in the financial statements.

This position is eligible for telework however, is required to work in office 2-3 days a week based on operational need.

This position is headquartered at the Sacramento Headquarters and is eligible for either a remote-based or office-based telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as needed. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Eligibility for telework requires employee residence in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states:
"telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.
