    Description

    The Cancer Health Service Line at Corewell Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Hematology program.

    This position will support our growing inpatient Hematology needs and you will have both inpatient and outpatient hematology responsibilities at Butterworth Hospital and Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion, on Corewell Health's medical mile in downtown Grand Rapids.

    This is a full-time position, working 5-eight hours shifts M-F to start.

    Once onboarded, you will rotate 1:5 weeks on call (phone only) with job responsibilities including the following:


    • You will see both new and established benign and malignant Hematology patients, as well as outpatient solid tumor patients
    • Perform bone marrow/skin biopsies in office
    • Work in close collaboration with our employed physicians

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Hematology Advanced Practice Provider, but new graduates will also be considered with previous nursing experience in Hematology.

    Job Summary

    Responsible for managing patients and coordinating the services provided by multiple disciplines within and outside the health system. Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with specific physician(s). Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of selected protocols/procedures.

    Provides educational support for patients/significant others, health team members and the community and coordinates QA/QI studies to measure outcomes of care.
