    Job purpose

    Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the incumbent is responsible for preparing visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts. Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts. Markets products by developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns; maintaining promotional materials inventory and maintaining vendor databases.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
    • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type.
    • Use computer software to generate new images.
    • Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer.
    • Draw and print charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork, using computer.
    • Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
    • Confer with department heads to discuss and determine layout design.
    • Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Internet websites.
    • Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients and/or supervisors and making necessary changes.
    • Study illustrations and photographs to plan presentation of materials, products, or services.
    • Prepare notes and instructions for workers who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing.
    • Produce still and animated graphics for on-air and taped portions of television news broadcasts, using electronic video equipment.
    • Key information into computer equipment to create layouts.
    • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
    • Plan concept by studying information and materials.
    • Illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
    • Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
    • Prepare finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors.
    • Prepare final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
    • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.
    • Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
    • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Create promotional materials and coordinates requirements with graphics with a MAC; traffic list; inventorying stock; placing orders; proofing; verifying receipt and installation.
    • Responsible for implementing strategies set forth by management.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications.
    • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
    • Assist with social media marketing and e-marketing efforts.
    • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports and employees as appropriate.
    • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
    • Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, departments, and company records.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
    • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Minimum of Two (2) years of graphic design and production experience in a high-volume environment.
    • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
    • Self-starter with keen ability to prioritize and time manage.
    • Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
    • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
    • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals.
    • Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours.
