    General Position Summary

    The Senior Buyer role oversees the procurement and promotion strategies for their designated product categories. The key aim is to drive profitable sales and meet departmental financial targets by curating the right product mix.

    Please note: This role requires on-site presence at the Lids corporate office in NW Indianapolis, with relocation necessary for non-local candidates.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and oversee the end-to-end process for product selection, from development to delivery, collaborating with vendors, negotiating prices for optimal margins, managing sample approvals, and ensuring timely delivery of quality merchandise through coordination with sourcing teams.
    • Curate seasonal product assortments for relevant categories and maintain assortment plans.
    • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing units to plan, allocate, and place orders for specific categories.
    • Regularly monitor market trends to gauge competition and identify brand growth opportunities by category.
    • Conduct periodic seasonal product presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Aggregate and disseminate product details for use in consumer marketing and operational channels.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or a related field of study
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
    • Effective communication and presentation skills
    • Proficient in project management
    • Ability to make informed decisions
    • Strong negotiation abilities
    • Thorough understanding of merchandise buying and product development principles
    • Demonstrated aptitude for planning and goal achievement through experience and judgment
    • Some level of creativity and autonomy required for task execution
