Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. Each year Prysmian manufacturers

thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables

    and

systems for power transmission and distribution , as well as

    medium low voltage cables

for the construction and infrastructure sectors. We also produce a comprehensive range of

optical fibers, copper cables and connectivity

    for

    voice, video, and data transmission

    for the

    telecommunication sector .
We are almost 30,000 employees, across 50+ countries.

Everyone at Prysmian has the potential to make their mark; because whatever you do, wherever you are based, you will be part of a company that is helping transform the world around us.

    Make Your Mark at Prysmian

In this important role, performing as the head of indirect materials and services for North America, you will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer for the region, and functionally to the NRM Global Purchasing Director in Milan.

The position will be based in Highland Heights, KY.

This role requires to lead a team of 21 headcounts, 6 Commodity Managers and 15 Plant Buyers who are located in different parts of North America.

This role requires the management of approximately $800M yearly spend split in multiple categories, among others the most important are: Transportation, Reels & Packaging, MRO & Facility Management.

Lastly this role will challenge the individual in their capacity to adapt and react quickly with flexibility to the request of the business and the organization.

Lead, inspire and engage the NRM Organization: In Prysmian, people are first. You will have the duty and the responsibility to lead the organization towards the business target.

You will empower the people to work autonomously, but also keep an open communication understanding where you can help to streamline, correct, and push their success.

Analyze and strategize the purchasing strategies by Categories: The NRM commodity has the highest variety of categories which imply an open mindset and a strong capability to adapt your thinking and your approach to the problems.

With different categories you will have to inspire your team to approach their purchasing duties in different ways and sometimes take a lead role in the change.

Evaluate and select suppliers and negotiate terms for major purchases; commit to purchases (within established limits of authority) that are in the organization's best interest.

Analyze and evaluate the organization's overall purchasing trends to identify areas where purchases could be made in bulk.
Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to identify opportunities to reduce overall purchasing costs.

Select and manage ongoing relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure that North America receives satisfactory standards of service.

Ensure the governance of the Request-To-Pay process: the NRM commodity is the only one in the purchasing group who has a strong exposure to the RTP process.

Your organization is responsible to issue purchase orders and across the board Prysmian NA issues around 40,000 POs/Year.

Your role will be to ensure the POs are well created and everyone in the process is aware and respectful of the Segregation of Duties in place in the organization.

Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in sales, production, or engineering) to understand their current and anticipated demand for goods and materials and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing purchasing activities.

Connect, involve, and share with the Global Team. NA plays a pivotal role in the performances of Prysmian Group.

You will be asked to have a strong connection with other directors in the other region of Prysmian as well as utilize properly the Global Commodity Managers:

a team of experts in matter who reside in Milan HQ and help to define the strategy at a group level.

    Drive performances:
You will be responsible for $800M spend and organization of 21 headcounts.

You will be responsible to drive the performance of your group through YoY Savings, Process Improvements and Sustainability friendly actions.

You will be measured but you will also have the responsibility to measure the effect of your actions on less quantifiable KPIs and make sure that the people you lead are engaged and follow your lead.

    Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or supply chain management is required, master's is a plus
Minimum of 10 years' experience in purchasing/supply chain is ideal, previous experience in purchasing is required

Knowledge of the manufacturing environment is required; it's a plus to have strong knowledge of the transportation market and the lumber market.

Travel domestically is needed up to 15% of the time (suppliers' meetings or visits to plants).
Prysmian, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities.

We strongly believe that diversity brings significant value at all levels of the organization, increasing the possibility of capturing market opportunities and maximizing value for our customers and stakeholders.

With Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) as part of our Social Ambition 2030 and a strategic pillar of our Company culture, Prysmian is committed to the development of an organization that prioritizes talent, where people feel respected, included, and free to fully express their potential just as they are.

All Managers and HRs in Prysmian are responsible for ensuring DE&I policies are respected during the recruiting process, as well as recognizing and mitigating unconscious biases that must not influence our selection processes.

All persons will be considered for employment without regard to their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, origin, citizenship status, socio-economic status, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, military service or veteran status, pregnancy, parental leave, medical conditions, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.

Prysmian will endeavor to make a reasonable accommodation for any disclosed physical or neurological condition or disability of a qualified applicant unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the operation of our business.
