Duties:


  • Locates, accesses, loads/unloads and moves materials, organizes stock in the most efficient way, using loadandunload skids, pallets, cartons of publications or other materials, high reach forklifts, cranes, or other transport vehicles etc.
  • Receive, store, selects and ships general or specialized bulk and bin materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and lift weights up to 45 pounds.
  • Works inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. May be regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or conveyor systems.
  • Wears protective clothing such as hard hats, steel toed shoes, gloves, masks and aprons.
  • Stacks, moves and arranges items on pallets, considering height, weight and special handling requirements.
  • Uses automated material processing equipment and systems to include forklifts, automated material handling and identification equipment.
  • Inspects product loads for accuracy and safely moves products through facility ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

  • U.S. Citizenship is Required.
  • Selectee must pass a drug test prior to appointment.
  • Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Selectees must pass a physical examination prior to appointment.
  • Strength test may be required.
  • Must be certified to operate a powered forklift.
  • Must have a valid state or District of Columbia driver's license.

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

To mínimally qualify for the KX level, you must meet the requirement below: Applicants must meet Screen Out/Job Element #1: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision: Experience using warehouse plans, methods, procedures and techniques of material handling.


  • Dexterity and Safety
  • Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (other than blueprint reading)
  • Knowledge of Materials


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
