Vantage's latest airport terminal project is the $4.2B development of a new world class international Terminal 6 at John F.

Kennedy International Airport (JFK), now underway.

The Vantage-led team at JFK Millennium Partners is developing Terminal 6 in two phases, with the first gates opening in 2026 and construction completion in 2028.

This new, 1.2 million square foot international terminal on the north side of JFK will feel like a boutique luxury hotel, featuring bright and airy check-in and arrivals areas, NYC-inspired shopping, dining and amenities, premium lounges, and generous seating areas.

The redevelopment will transform the guest experience at Terminal 6 while offering numerous opportunities for minority, women-owned (MWBE), service-disabled, veteran-owned (SDVOB) and local business enterprises (LBEs).


Job Summary


The Airside Manager will be at the forefront of ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft and ground handling operations.

They will oversee all airside activities, from runway operations to aircraft parking positions.

The Airside Manager is responsible for enforcing compliance with airport regulations, resolving operational challenges, and coordinating with emergency services during crises.

They will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence on the airside.


Responsibilities:


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to airside operations coordinators
  • Oversee and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of all airside activities, including aircraft movement, ground handling, and GHA (Ground Handling Agent) performance
  • Direct and participate in the management of airside areas, including runways, taxiways, aprons, and aircraft parking positions to ensure safety, security, and operational efficiency
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with airport regulations and safety standards by all stakeholders operating on the airside
  • Collaborate with safety and security personnel to address operational issues affecting airside activities and passenger safety
  • Resolve operational challenges promptly by issuing directives or escalating matters to appropriate authorities
  • Review incident reports and implement corrective actions as necessary to prevent recurrence
  • Coordinate with emergency services during crisis situations and ensure the smooth resumption of normal airside operations
  • Develop and maintain incident records to facilitate analysis and improvement of airside operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Participate in Port Authority led Airside working groups and meetings including Winter Ops and IROPS programs
  • Collaborate with the JMP project team on airside operation items related to the construction and layout of T
  • Direct and participate in deicing plans and activities related to T7 and T6

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum 57 years in an operations, airside operations, administration or customer service role, preferably in an aviation or airport setting
  • Experience working effectively in a regulated environment
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college of university with a focus on aviation management or business administration preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications combined with critical thinking skills
  • Organization and planning skills crucial for multitasking while prioritizing and executing tasks
