Position Overview:
The Behavioral Health Quality Assurance Manager (QA Manager) is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality assurance processes within the behavioral health clinic.
The manager will ensure that the organization adheres to all regulatory requirements, best practices, and quality standards in the provision of behavioral health services.
This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and QA Director.Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance_: You would be responsible for ensuring that the clinic's behavioral health services meet established standards of quality and compliance. This involves developing and implementing quality assurance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Monitoring and Evaluation_: You would conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical documentation, treatment plans, and service delivery to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices. You may also track and analyze data related to patient outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Compliance_: You would stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, such as those set by the state of California, the Department of Health Care Services, and other governing bodies. You would ensure that the clinic is in compliance with these standards and assist in any required reporting.
- Training and Education_: As part of a team, develop and deliver training programs to clinic staff on topics such as documentation practices, quality improvement, and compliance. You would also provide guidance and support to clinical staff regarding quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Continuous Quality Improvement_: You would identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with clinic staff to implement changes that enhance the quality of behavioral health services. This may involve developing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, and facilitating performance improvement projects.
- Collaboration:_ You would work closely with clinic leadership, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of quality and safety. This may involve participating in meetings, committees, and other collaborative efforts aimed at improving the overall functioning of the clinic.
Required Duties:
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, including developing and monitoring performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal quality assurance meetings and committees to review clinical outcomes, identify trends, and develop strategies for improvement.
- Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to staff on quality assurance processes, documentation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of reports to regulatory agencies, funders, and other stakeholders, as required.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as accrediting bodies and quality improvement organizations, to ensure alignment with industry standards and participate in external audits or assessments, as needed.
- Responsible for overseeing and reporting on Billing Information System entries for assigned programs/counties to program directors
- Monitor Medi-Cal documentation of assigned programs.
- Distribute necessary information to various departments within the agency and outside agencies.
- Support Director of Compliance & QA in coordination with county departments to troubleshoot system errors or billing discrepancies.
