Billing Assistant

Modesto, CA

Hourly Compensation:
$20/hour DOE


Overview


The Billing Assistant oversees the accurate printing, compilation, and mailing of confidential and time-sensitive documents for the GMR Facility Billing Department.


Summary /
Responsibilities:


  • Print and compile invoices, claim forms, explanation of benefits (EOB), patient care reports (PCR), and other confidential documents as directed.
  • Prep outgoing mail and assist with all paper/scanning processes.
  • Monitor office supplies and make timely requests for replenishment.
  • Distribute incoming mail and electronic correspondence as necessary.
  • Assists the teams in miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Assist in collecting data and creating/maintaining reports as necessary.
  • Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Organized, and meticulous with excellent follow through abilities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with shifting daily priorities.
  • Meet deadlines working within tight time constraints.
  • Proficient in medical and legal terminology.
  • General office equipment skills needed (fax, copy, multiline phone, etc.).
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education & Industry Experience

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Computer skills to ensure proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook. Typing ability of at least 40WPM.
