DEA/Safety Coordinator:
Ascent seeks a bi-lingual full-time DEA/Safety Coordinator for its Central Islip, NY location.

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with DEA/NYS and Safety Regulations including:
DEA Form 222, Form 41, Form 106, ARCOS, YERS, Quota, Import, Export, Security, and Safety. This position reports directly to the Director of CSC.


Requirements:


  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
  • Daily Tracking of inhouse inventory accounting for all controlled substance materials on site.
  • Accurate record keeping and reporting through hardcopy and electronic logbooks/spreadsheets.
  • Review/Compilation of Purchases/Receiving, Sales/Shipping paperwork, batch records, ARCOS, DEA 222's, and other documents as required.
  • Working closely with all departments to insure compliance with DEA/NYS/OSHA/Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct and document routine safety trainings along with ordering/maintaining inventory and supplies as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining security measures including Vault, Cage, Safes, Cameras, Motion Sensors, Door Contacts, Alarm Systems, Card Access System, Lock systems, Gates, and Fencing.
  • Write, review, and update all SOP's and trainings as needed pertaining to Controlled Substances, Security, and Safety.
  • Coordinate/conduct internal investigation efforts, corrective actions, and performing routine trainings.
  • Conduct daily walkthrough inspections and correct any issues found.
  • Assist the Director of Controlled Substance Compliance in interfacing with the State and Federal authorities as required on issues relating to reporting requirements, inspections, audits, regulations, and other requests as needed.
  • Submit/upload reports to DEA/NYS/OSHA and other agencies along with working with each to resolve any questions or concerns.
  • Must work effectively with teams and independently.
  • Must demonstrate excellent planning, organizational skills, and have the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to coordinate destruction of hazardous waste and witness offsite controlled burns.
  • Must be able to move drums/pallets and learn how to handle pallet jacks/forklift.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule nights and weekends as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required by the Director of CSC.

Education:


Bachelor's degree in science, safety, or a related discipline with pharmaceutical controlled substance experience and over 2 years relevant work experience preferred.
