Job Summary/Basic Function:


The Klingenstein Center for Independent School Leadership seeks an Associate Director for Admission and Enrollment Management to provide admission and program support for the Klingenstein Center.

The Associate Director for Admission and Enrollment Management works as part of a highly collaborative team and juggles multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Job duties may change with the cycles of the academic year, Klingenstein programs, and daily priorities.


CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Recruitment and External Outreach (United States and International)

  • Develop and execute strategies for promoting all four programs sponsored by the

Klingenstein Center:
(Summer Institute for Teachers in the Beginning Years of their Career (75 students); Program for Heads of School (20 participants national and international); Two-summer master's degree program (50 students); Full-year master's degree program (30 students); a dual degree with the Columbia Business School and dual degree with INSEAD which is a global business school in France and Singapore (variable enrollment))

  • Work collaboratively with external partners to develop effective recruitment strategies that target educators who are recognized leaders or who have demonstrated leadership and demonstrated potential for leadership. (We have a 98% on time graduation so recruitment is key)
  • Partner with 11 independent school associations throughout the world to promote and recruit for programs.
  • Organize and sometimes attend admissions and recruiting events at schools and conferences.
  • Organize and conduct various webinars and other Zoom recruitment sessions for domestic and international student populations.
  • Design and plan offcampus admissions and alumni events.
  • Other services as needed.

Administrative and Program Management

  • Manage admission committee meetings to determine accepted students.
  • Liaise and manage relationships with TC Departments such as Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, Admissions, Residential Services, and International Students Office.
  • Review policies, processes, and procedures to identify opportunities to improve the Center's effectiveness and efficiency regarding Admissions, enrollment management, and alumni volunteer management issues.
  • Analyze and determine the outcomes of the Klingenstein Center's programs on participants using various metrics.
  • Interview applicants who decide not to attend our programs to track their reasons and to identify potential areas of improvement in our processes.
  • Represent the Klingenstein Center at invited events.
  • Serve as a core member of the administrative team in problemsolving, visioning, and helping to shape policy and direction for the organization.
  • Negotiate consultant agreements for hotels and site vendors.
  • Other services as needed.

Instructional Support

  • Secure and place students in practicum in schools throughout our independent school network.
  • Oversee site sponsors who work with students.
  • Support student enrollment needs.

Fiscal Management and Marketing

  • Manage annual budget for admissions, recruitment, and scholarship.
  • Collaborate with the Director to determine awards and grants to students.
  • Input all student's scholarship awards in Apex.
  • Track awards throughout the student's time with the Center.
  • Collaborate with associate director of communications on admissions materials, marketing, and targeted communications strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Education or equivalent.
  • Experience working and navigating admissions and financial aid processes for schools.
  • Excellent skills including inquiry
- mindset, creativity, effective speaking and storytelling,
detail orientation, project management, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and
proven ability to gather quantitative and qualitative data, make sense of it, and make
decisions informed by evidence; think strategically, proactively, and collaboratively; and to
problem-solve.

  • Taskoriented with a proven ability to obtain results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Sensitivity to confidentiality and excellent judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • At least 10 years of Independent School experience.
  • Experience with direct management leadership experience and program
development.

  • Effective collaborator and thought partner.
  • Deep interest in education, particularly independent and international schools.
  • Desire to work with a highly collaborative, crossfunctional team.
  • Interest in thinking and acting strategically to grow the applicant pool and enrollment.

Salary Range:

$85,000- $100,000
