    Job Description and Duties

    The Fuels and Transportation Division (FTD) is seeking an Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Specialists to join its staff and work on zero-emission vehicle infrastructure planning and deployment. Under the general direction of the Program (Branch) Manager in the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Unit of the Fuels and Transportation Division, the specialist will help administer the Clean Transportation Program, which is investing more than $1 billion to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission transportation infrastructure and support in-state manufacturing and workforce training and development. The specialist will serve in the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure and Analysis Branch under the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Unit.

    The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Unit emphasizes large-scale and rapid deployment of infrastructure. It works with third-party implementers on rebate projects that play a key role in advancing standards, technology requirements and expediting the state's ZEV and infrastructure transition. Within this unit, the EV Charging Infrastructure Deployment Specialists will act as the Energy Commission's project manager for agreements and work with the unit on the block grants to accelerate deployment of EV charging infrastructure. The work entails close coordination with third-party block grant implementers, evaluating policy design and implementation proposals, participating in regular strategy and coordination calls; evaluating Key Performance Indicators and implementation success and challenges; and recommending action to Energy Commission management. The EV Charging Infrastructure Specialists will develop solicitations, score proposals, develop and manage funding agreements including review and approvals of invoices, amendments, and deliverables; work as part of a team to develop and implement grant funding opportunities; oversee and manage project implementation; evaluate and recommend potential updates to electric vehicle infrastructure policies and strategies; and collaborate within the CEC and with outside agencies and stakeholders.

    Working Conditions

    The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
