    Centennial is seeking a caring and competent individual to serve as the Executive Director of a nonprofit agency serving older adults and at-risk individuals. This organization is dedicated to helping people live safely and independently in their homes for as long as possible. They specialize in services and programs forolder adultsand anyone with disabilities.This position is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in the community and is experienced with developing, implementing, and maintaining community-based programs.

    This role is located in Jackson, OH.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan, formulate and recommend policies and programs that will further the mission of the organization
    • Delegate the execution of agency programs, including private, state, and federally funded programs, to the appropriate senior management team member
    • Evaluate the results of programs and recommend policies, procedures, and actions to achieve established goals
    • Hire staff to carry out the mission of the agency while staying within budget
    • Direct the development, implementation and administration of the overall strategic plan
    • Direct and coordinate approved programs, projects, and major activities of the staff
    • Optimize staffing resources by clearly defining duties, establishing performance standards, conducting performance reviews and recommending competitive salary structure
    • Provide organizational and team leadership, management, and support to staff
    • Monitor and evaluate all programs funded or provided by the organization
    • In cooperation with the Senior Management team, develop, recommend, and operate within an annual budget set by the Board of Trustees
    • Execute contracts, grants, and commitments as needed
    • Ensure that all funds, physical assets, and property of the organization are safeguarded and administered
    • Assist with obtaining outside funding in the form of grants and contracts from public and private sources
    • Ensure compliance with all audit requirements
    • Maintain good working relationships with outside contractors
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with other organizations, both public and private
    • Oversee a public relations program to enhance public awareness of the organization
    • Engage in legislative and advocacy efforts at the county, district, state, and federal levels to further the interests and services to the older adult and/or at-risk individuals
    • Develop a rapport with the public and cultivate relationships that are in the best interest of the organization
    • Collaborate with community organizations, government, and others to meet the overall objectives and policies of the organization
    • Provide regular communication with the Board of Trustees and their Committees to keep them thoroughly informed on operations
    • Develop specific policies, procedures, and programs to accomplish the general policies established by the Board of Trustees
    • Provide liaison and staff support to the Board committee members
    • Ensure that committee decisions and recommendations are submitted to the Executive Committee or to the Board for approval
    • Attend all meetings of the Board and the Board appointed Committees

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Gerontology, Social Work, Sociology, or related field required. Masters Degree is preferred
    • Ten years experience in administrative and managerial experience required
    • Three years experience in the field of aging preferred
    • Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining community-based programs; policy development; planning, interpreting and implementing public policy or legislation; managing service program fiscal resources; program planning, development or administration; and working with external organizations
    • Experience with long-range planning and implementation of strategies and processes to achieve goals
    • Knowledge of county, state, and federal laws, policies, agencies and service delivery issues affecting the older adult and/or at-risk individuals
    • Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports, information and public presentations
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Relational with the ability to cultivate healthy relationships with peer team members
    • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn the organizations primary software
    • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with the older adults and/or at-risk individuals
