Overview:

A Food Expeditor serves as a bridge between kitchen team, waitstaff and management, ensuring a smooth flow of information.

An Expeditor is in charge of organizing kitchen orders, upholding quality standards and overseeing food safety.


Responsibilities:


  • Organizes ticket orders to assist kitchen staff in prioritizing outgoing meals
  • Ensures orders are not misplaced, overlooked or delayed
  • Assists in final dish preparation by adding garnishes or condiments
  • Verifies dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature
  • Supports waitstaff in serving orders to guests
  • Facilitates the transfer of crucial information between kitchen and waitstaff
  • Properly stores food in assigned areas by sorting, labeling and dating
  • Maintains cleanliness in work areas, sinks, counters, display, prep tables and equipment
  • Disposes of trash, empties wastebaskets
  • Conducts inventory of supplies and equipment to maintain optimal levels
  • Ensures kitchen compliance with health department regulations, keeping it clean and orderly

Qualifications:


  • Ability to stand for extended periods with or without accommodations
  • Preferred experience or training in food preparation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in reading and writing
