    Description

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Director of E-Discovery and Paralegal Services, the Paralegal will work directly with Attorneys in the Real Estate Finance and Corporate Practice Groups.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Ability to convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner; strong service orientation.
    • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities.
    • Preparing, revising and/or filing various documents, certificates, statements, amendments and forms.
    • Assisting with preparation of closing statements.
    • Draft initial closing checklists for attorney review.
    • Assemble closing packages and binders.
    • Assemble deal contacts,
    • Create distribution lists.
    • Prepare formation of entities.
    • Prepare renewals with the Secretary of State.
    • Register tradenames and DBAs with various local areas.
    • Create lien searches and summarize results.
    • Draft and compile Secretary's and Officer's Certificates.
    • Create nonprofit setup for private foundations.
    • Assist with closings.
    • Preparation of loan documents.
    • Maintain deal calendar.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements and Desired Skills:

    • Law firm experience preferred
    • Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies, preferred
    • Knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
    • Superior interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication across a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys and staff while maintaining high level of work quality and customer service.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
