***: The MDT Coordinator supervises and manages the MDT Department. The Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Working Protocols of this multi county children's advocacy center (serving Montgomery, Walker and San Jacinto Counties) govern the processes by which children and non-offending caregivers access these services.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


I. MDT Department Staff and MDT Team Protocols
1) Administers and oversees the Multidisciplinary Team Department in all of its functions.

2) Maintains responsibility for the overall department and monitoring of policies and protocols for MDT Specialists.

3)

Conducts regular departmental meetings, including but not limited to:

discussion of SWI; departmental development which may include strengthening of department relationships; and daily review of intake log and MDT communication.

4) Provides supervision to the MDT Specialists through weekly meetings and ongoing contact to provide leadership support, address individual performance growth and development, review intake follow ups, monitor and provide feedback of job performance.

5) Reviews casework and provides consultation on the more difficult assignments.

6) Provides MDT outreach and community training opportunities for all three counties.

7) Develops and maintains new MDT member orientation literature, policies and procedures, in particular, outreach to law enforcement agencies and DFPS units that require ongoing orientation

8) Planning and facilitating MDT Team case review meetings

9) Planning and facilitating MDT Team Building activities and events.

10) Establish and maintain open communication and healthy relationships with all partner agency representatives.

11) Participates on the Children's Safe Harbor Leadership Team and assists with the ongoing development of this high capacity children's advocacy center.

12) Review SWI Notifications of child abuse and neglect from the Department of Family and Protective Services statewide intake and review these notifications for correspondence with agreed upon criteria of referrals to Children's Safe Harbor investigative unit.


13) Other duties as assigned, in particular the provision of forensic interviews for this multi-county CAC (see other job description).


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:


  • College degree in a related field: social work, sociology, criminal justice and behavioral or allied health.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adolescents, ranging in age from 2 to 17 years of age in order to solicit sensitive information from them;
  • Familiarity with and a disposition toward the multidisciplinary team approach to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases;
  • Ability to testify effectively in civil and criminal proceedings;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally to a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Superior communication and diplomacy skills exemplified by a deep understanding of the MDT approach to child abuse investigations and healing practices.
  • Academic training or practical experience in and knowledge of developmental stages of children and the dynamics and effects of intra
- and extra
- familial child abuse.

  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate and act as a role model regarding exceptional selfcare routines and management

Pay:
$55, $65,000.00 per year
