    Description


    The Diagnostic Specialist-MSSM is a professional individual who supports quality patient care, performs routine examinations, assists physicians and registered nurses with daily clinical activity and performs standard diagnostic procedures.

    Responsibilities


    • Plans and manages patient care according to each patients needs.
    • Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
    • Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
    • Provides routine care for patients.
    • Reviews medical charts.
    • Accompanies patients to their rooms.
    • Assists physicians and registered nurses.
    • Communicates with patients and their families.
    • Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, spirometry, etc.
    • Prepares specimens for lab courier.
    • Administers medications.
    • Provides wound care.
    • Prepares and administers injections
    • Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately
    • Observes and records patients conditions and reactions to medications and treatment.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications


    • Completion of a New York State-approved training program in licensed practical nursing.
    • BLS certification
    • 1-2 years recent nursing experience
    • Active New York State LPN licensure.

    The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.

    The salary range for the role is $ $ Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.

    The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
