SUMMARY


The Staff Accountant primary responsibilities includes cash management, accounts payable, daily work, income journals and helping manage accounts receivable and help with end-of-month reconciliations and reporting as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

  • Basic data entry tasks for accounting assistants include logging transactions, recording, and reviewing journal entries, creating invoices, and crafting spreadsheets.
  • Handle incoming mail, scan, photocopy documents, and prepare quarterly reports. Yearend audits and bank reconciliations.
  • Work to get invoice approvals from department heads. Enter into M3 as needed and code accordingly.
  • Create and update financial reports. They work on balance sheets, statements of income, statements of retained earnings, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and organize all work areas, order supplies as necessary.
  • Comply with all standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Work with guests and clients on folios and billing.
  • Attend regular standup and staff meetings
  • Establish and maintain professional demeanor and standards of performance of all Front Office staff
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company policy
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming in accordance with company policy
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, serviceoriented manner
  • Other duties as required

Guest Service

  • Maintains _guest service_ as the driving philosophy of the operation
  • Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests' needs
  • Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
  • Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires an Associate Degree in Accounting or above.


LANGUAGE AND
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests, and supervisors for optimum operation of the property.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
