THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.


Under the general direction of the Section Chief, the Tax Administrator I plans, organizes, and directs the business operations and activities of the Technology Development Group (TDG).

The TA I is responsible for directing subordinate staff engaged in the support of the Employment Tax and Benefit Overpayment Collection programs and various other critical division processes.

The incumbent carries out the Division's mission to perform workloads in a progressive manner to meet stated goals, while balancing the needs of internal and external customers, staff resources and workload priorities.

The incumbent assists the Section Chief with a multitude of critical functions, workloads and processes.

The incumbent actively participates as a leader and contributing member of the CD management team for planning, organizing, and decision-making processes.

The TA I works in collaboration with other members of the Section, Division, and Branch's management teams and provides leadership to staff in support of the Section's mission to ensure effective coordination of specialized work activities.

The TA I applies provisions of the Unemployment Insurance Code, Civil Code and other regulations, policies and procedures in the course of managing staff resources, workloads and processes.

California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed.

Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.***You will find additional information about the job in the
